Every Step Is Counted

By The Order of the Unseen Way

Pathfinders on Android have reported a quiet injustice: set out on a walking quest — a wandering by steps, or a trek by bearing — and the tally stood at zero, however far the road ran. The steps were taken; they were simply never counted.

The cause is found. Android guards the sense that counts a body’s motion, and it releases it only to an app that asks aloud. Ours never asked — so the phone, quite properly, said nothing at all. No error, no warning: just a still ring and an unmoved count.

New in this patch

  • The Order now asks — the first time you press Resume on a walking quest, Android will ask for Physical activity access. Grant it, and your paces flow into the tally as they always should have.
  • Refusal is handled with grace — decline, and the quest tells you plainly what it needs instead of pretending to wait. Blocked it outright? An Open settings stone takes you straight to the switch.
  • iPhone pathfinders — nothing changes for you; your steps were counted all along.

Take the new build from downloads.outdare-game.com (or heed the update notice inside the app), press Resume, allow Physical activity — and walk.

Walk well, pathfinder. This time it counts.
